La veste volée de Joseph Banks (Tahiti mai 1769)
Abstract
As he slept by Tahitian chiefs, on May 28th 1769, during Cook’s first voyage, Joseph Banks’ jacket was stolen. First of all,
the point is to understand what this piece of dress exactly meant for European and Polynesians as well. Reflecting on
conflicting visions regarding theft gives way to approach how much worth it was.
